The Copenhagen International School of Performing Arts (CISPA) and acclaimed Greek theatre director Avra Sidiropoulou, Associate Professor and Director of the MA in “Theatre Studies” at the Open University of Cyprus, present a radical reinterpretation of Medea — one of the most psychologically profound tragedies of Ancient Greek drama.
This contemporary staging explores urgent themes of social justice, gendered and racial marginalization, and resistance, offering a powerful reflection that still resonates nearly 2.500 years after Euripides penned his masterpiece.
Premiere: May 23, 2025, as part of the Copenhagen Stage Festival
Featuring students of CISPA
Dr. Sidiropoulou is currently in Denmark as part of an Erasmus+ Teaching Assignment at CISPA.
