Andreas Nicolaides

Actor, Screenwriter

Andreas Nicolaides studied History and Politics at the Department of Turkish and Middle Eastern Studies at the University of Cyprus. He is also a graduate of the Vladimiros Kafkarides Drama School and holds a Master's degree in Directing and Acting from the Open University of Cyprus.
As an actor, he has participated in theatrical, cinematic, and television productions, while he directed the plays Maria Callas, Before the End and The Jewish Wife by Bertolt Brecht at Roes Theater.
As a screenwriter, he collaborated with the Cyprus Broadcasting Corporation (CyBC) for scriptwriting and editing. He has also written and adapted plays that were staged in theaters across Cyprus.
In 2019, he published his first novella titled Ο Κρανιακός Ιππόκαμπος. In 2021, he released the bilingual play, in Greek and English, Maria Callas, Before the End, as well as the novel Η Νήσος του Χαλκουντάν, μια κωμικοτραγική ιστορία.
In 2024, he was awarded the First Prize for Short Story by the cultural magazine New Era for his work The Man with the Bird.
